Hellen Fungenerous Introduction

Vyond Sample:

  • My company released a completely new software to replace the current, legacy software geared towards billing and accounting.

I was tasked with creating training that demonstrated key tasks and provided learners with the opportunity to practice in a low stakes environment.

This course focuses on creating and managing pledges in the software. It is one of 8 courses in the Cashier Accelerator Learning Path.

I was responsible for designing and developing each course in this project from beginning to end.

  • Designer and Developer

    • Research Process

    • Consultation with SME’s

    • Scriptwriting

    • Storyboarding to organize the material for enhanced learning

    • Develop knowledge checks and a final assessment to gauge the success of the learning outcomes

    • Screen-recording

    • Voice recording and editing for multiple characters

    • Add to Storyline360 project file

    • Publish the SCORM package to the LMS

  • Cashiers who complete the Accelerator Learning Path will demonstrate proficiency in completing Pledges within the software, as measured by task accuracy and completion time, within 30 days of course completion.

    1. Describe the purpose of a pledge.

    2. Apply the steps to create a pledge.

    3. Examine changes to the customer account and the pledge account after creating a pledge.

    4. Produce an invoice for the pledge agency.

    5. Practice posting a pledge agency.

My Process
  • I wanted to recreate the set of the Ellen DeGeneres show as closely as possible, so I ended up building the background from scratch, rather than using a template. Inside Vyond, I was able to save and share this as a template for a “tv show” for later use.

  • Because Pledges typically involve customers who are experiencing difficulties in life, I felt that a talk show would be a very effective way to engage the learners while teaching them the process in the software.

  • After creating and templatizing the background and characters, I recorded all of the course script. Because there are three different characters, I edited the audio to create three distinct voices. Finally I added the audio and sound effects to each scene, downloaded the video, and added it to the project in Storyline 360.
