My Process
The subject matter expert (SME) provided several unedited recordings of customer webinars. This resulted in much of the footage containing frequent “um’s” and “uh’s,” along with audio that was challenging to hear due to overlapping speech.
My initial task was to eliminate the larger sections deemed unusable from a technical perspective. Subsequently, I consulted with the SME to identify the essential topics and material for the webinar. She supplied me with timestamps indicating the specific content that needed to be included.
Recognizing that this video would serve as an on-demand resource, I decided to modify the format. Instead of having the speaker speak over a PowerPoint presentation during topic introductions, I incorporated screenshots of the elements being discussed.
I noticed that many screen elements were quite small. To enhance visibility, I utilized various animations in Camtasia to mask these elements and zoomed in for better clarity.
Additionally, I created “endcap” graphic cards to give the recording a more polished appearance.
Ultimately, I condensed the original six videos into two. I also exported these to Screencast to provide learners with an interactive table of contents in the final version of the webinars.
The finished technical webinar videos were shared with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and uploaded to the company's Learning Management System (LMS).
